World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, 30 July

Fr Dominic Rohan, CMF, of the Claretian UniNation (the Claretian Representing the NGO of the Organism in the United nations) asks that this information spreads across the globe wherever the Claretians mission.

Remember that in 2013, United Nations member states adopted a resolution that designated July 30 as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. The day aims to “raise awareness of the situation of victims of human trafficking and for the promotion and protection of their rights.”

Fr Rohan writes: “Human trafficking is happening around us, and throughout the world, every day. In the present time the world faces, the largest movement of refugees and migrants. In this process people get trafficked too. According to 2016 Global Report on Trafficking in Person, there is no country that is immune to trafficking. In India 20 to 65 million people are affected by Trafficking. The International day Against Trafficking in persons is an opportunity to pray and to abolish this modern slavery. “

Below is the Prayer composed for this purpose and some items for deep reflections regarding this damnably criminal industry (homo lupus homini) which activists refer in the infamous 4-Ds: Dangerous, Dehumanizing, Demeaning and Dirty.

God you have made all the people born from a mother. But many people are abandoned by the parents and many are stolen away from the parents. They made to suffer. We ask you to give us your grace to listen to their cry and do whatever is possible to free them.
