7 th Day – Meeting of the General Government with ACLA

Nairobi, Kenya. On the Solemnity of Christ the King, the meeting focused on the second process of transformation: Community of Witnesses and Messengers. The participants focused their attention on the exercise of authority and government in our Congregation. Father General proposed to them to look at the style of Jesus of Nazareth and take another look at the style of Father Claret.

For Major Superiors:

  • Recalling the experience of your exercise of authority. What is your meaning of authority and leadership? What do you find more joyful and meaningful in them?
  • What are the major difficulties or challenges that you face as the Major Superior / mission coordinator?
  • What are your attitudes and actions that empower or weaken the role of your consultants?

For Others:

  • What are the strengths of your leadership team as the way you carry out governance?
  • What are yourmain difficulties in encounter with teamwork?
  • What do you think are the major attitudes and actions in your part that help or impede the Major Superior in the exercise of his role?
  • What are the attitudes and actions of Major Superior that empower or impede your contribution to the life of the Major Organism?

After the sharing, lunch was served and they went out for an excursion. In the evening, after dinner, the General Government dialogued with the Coordinators of the Missions of Angola, Sao Tome-Principe, and Ivory Cost and Burkina Faso.

The encounter came to a wonderful close as the participants left on November 28.

Pray that this great communion bears the expected fruits in the soil of Africa.
