Our Schools
These humble strides in the area of School Apostolate, are indicators of the determination of the government, professed and lay members of the Claretian Family West Nigeria in adhering to the injunction of Father Claret to using all efficient means to spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom. School education, especially at the nursery and secondary levels, is key to practical steps to the formation of the human person.

During the celebrations marking the Delegation’s 10 years Foundation Anniversary in October 2017, some echoes of joy resonated about the Claret Secondary School, Kabba opened in 2014. This was one of the key highlights in the address by the Major Superior, Very Rev Fr Dan Onyeayana, cmf, and therefrom, he presented some of the pupils of the school dressed in full school regalia brought to grace the Claretian Family event in Ikorodu.
The Secondary School, located on the Claret Avenue, Iludun Quarters, Kabba, in the North Central region of Nigeria, was the first of its kind in the Delegation. It was a massive gratuitous property given by the indigenes of Kabba, a developing city that happens to be the native locality of the immediate past Delegation Superior Very Rev Fr Henry Omonisaye, cmf (through whom the piece was offered).
Exactly on October 24, 2014, Most Rev Dr Martin Olorunmolu, Bishop of Lokoja officially opened the institution after the Holy Mass attended by some of the Council members and hosts of Claretian Family of the Organism. 44 students were lucky pioneer fellows of the school that today boasts of 88.
The staff has a Claretian as Manager, an experienced layperson as Principal, a Claretian Financial Administrator, 2 seminarians, 27 teaching and non-teaching workforce.
As a new enterprise, especially in the field of education, the Claret Secondary School faces hard biting challenges despite boasting of best infrastructural facilities. Among these challenges, include low number of enrolment into the school, a quality school bus to run the academic demands etc.
However, the future is bright.
At the celebration of the 10 years anniversary of the Independent Delegation of the Claretian Missionaries West Nigeria, exactly October 24, 2017 inside the magnificent St Augustine’s Catholic Church hall Maryhill Ikorodu, the Major Superior of the Organism Very Rev Fr Daniel Onyeayana, cmf, gave the joyous crowd a sweet surprise.
The Superior presented some elegantly dressed school pupils who he introduced as students of the newly acquired institution by name Claret Comprehensive Academy, located in Ewo-owa, in the outskirts of Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, South Western of Nigeria. It was an already existing school property purchased from the private proprietress by the Delegation. That brings to two such institutions founded and managed by the young Claretian Missionaries West Nigeria.

It is important to relate here that the Organism had three years ago conceived and constructed from the scratch the Claret Secondary School in Kabba, Kogi, North Central State of Nigeria. The indigenous community generously donated the virgin land to the Delegation.
These humble strides are indicators of the determination of the government, professed and lay members of the Claretian Family West Nigeria in adhering to the injunction of Father Claret to using all efficient means to spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom.
