The Superior General, VRF Mathew Vattamattam, cmf, on November 20, 2018 – with the title above – issued a powerful and highly animating Letter from Rome after the General Council Meetings of October 2018.
Of great and joyous interest for the Claretian Missionaries of Nigeria is the paragraph cited below regarding the approval of the establishment of the long-dreamed Nigerian Claretian University to kickoff humbly in Nekede, Owerri. The relevant text reads:
6. The major deliberations and decisions of the council sessions of October 2018
6.4. Other deliberations and decisions
4) Approval of the starting of a Claretian University in Nigeria after the meeting of the General Government with the Provincial Superior of East Nigeria and the President of the Steering Committee of the Education trust. The University is to start in a modest way within our possibilities suited to the context and need of the mission.
