Abuja, February 4, 2019: An Update – The materialization of the Claretian dream of an acclaimed Institute for the men and women of Consecrated Life in Africa is due sooner than estimated. What a great news of joy!
On the above date, the TICLA Steering Committee had her first meeting of the year in Dutse Alhaji, Kubwa Extension, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. The meeting was to plan for the 2019 TICLA Conference and commence early preparations. It was also convoked to brainstorm on the possible venue.
With the successes of the past two editions, we can all attest, the committee has already set in motion the compilation of all the Papers presented at the previous Conferences into book form for regular accompaniment, easy study and general quick references.
The moment offered the committee the singular opportunity for an on-the-site assessment of the construction works currently taking place at the locale. The body was impressed with the level of work done so far and indicated areas of concern for the attention of the engineer.
As at the time of filing this update, the entire land has been fenced with the two entrance and exit gates already mounted. The development of the entire landscape will be in phases. Thus, the administrative block is what we can see currently under construction in the image displays.
However, the speed of the work is indicative of the seriousness of the Claretians in African (ACLA) in getting this Institute physically erected and administratively functioning in due time. Accordingly, the Committee remains profoundly indebted to the General Curia – Rome for funding such gigantic project in these financially austere times.
