During the celebrations marking the Delegation’s 10 years Foundation Anniversary in October 2017, some echoes of joy resonated about the Claret Secondary School, Kabba opened in 2014. This was one of the key highlights in the address by the Major Superior, Very Rev Fr Dan Onyeayana, cmf, and therefrom, he presented some of the pupils of the school dressed in full school regalia brought to grace the Claretian Family event in Ikorodu.
The Secondary School, located on the Claret Avenue, Iludun Quarters, Kabba, in the North Central region of Nigeria, was the first of its kind in the Delegation. It was a massive gratuitous property given by the indigenes of Kabba, a developing city that happens to be the native locality of the immediate past Delegation Superior Very Rev Fr Henry Omonisaye, cmf (through whom the piece was offered).
Exactly on October 24, 2014, Most Rev Dr Martin Olorunmolu, Bishop of Lokoja officially opened the institution after the Holy Mass attended by some of the Council members and hosts of Claretian Family of the Organism. 44 students were lucky pioneer fellows of the school that today boasts of 88.
The staff has a Claretian as Manager, an experienced layperson as Principal, a Claretian Financial Administrator, 2 seminarians, 27 teaching and non-teaching workforce.
As a new enterprise, especially in the field of education, the Claret Secondary School faces hard biting challenges despite boasting of best infrastructural facilities. Among these challenges, include low number of enrolment into the school, a quality school bus to run the academic demands etc.
However, the future is bright.
