And many were added to the Claretian Family: First and Final Professions

Elerumoke-Ibadan. Wednesday, September 08, 2021. It was the Feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin, the foundress of the Claretian Missionaries. The members and Families of the Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Delegation West Nigeria, gathered for the First and Final Religious Professions of some confreres at the Claret House of Theology, Elerumoke, Ibadan, Oyo State, North-West of Nigeria.

What is very striking with this event was that students belonging to three different organisms of the Congregation, around the continent of Africa, took the Perpetual Vows. Reading their names is both pulchritudinous and satisfactory.

The colourful statistics are as follows:

All from the Delegation West Nigeria.

B. Final/Perpetual Profession

Five students from the Delegation West Nigeria

The Vicar of the Delegation West Nigeria, Very Rev Fr. Matthias Iheonu, CMF who presided and received the Vows, thanked the students for availing themselves for the missionary life and task of the Congregation and, in particular, the Delegation. He prayed that they may be faithful in keeping these Evangelical Vows and the Charism of the Claretian Missionaries.

We remain highly indebted to the various illustrious Claretian Prefects of students in Ibadan (especially Frs Gregory Ezeokeke and Rowland Onuekwus) and their various noteworthy teams of Formators that harnessed and nurtured this wonderful eclectic community of young and maturing vocations. Your loyalty and efforts are as charmingly coloured as the community you led.

Thus, we pray for God’s grace upon the Professed confreres as they continue their journey of Missionary discernment at different levels toward perfect Charity. Amen!

Immaculate Heart of Mary – Be Our Salvation!
