Theology House, Elerumoke, Ibadan: Magnificently perched on the hilltops of Elerumoke like a winged gigantic dinosaur, along the famous Ibadan/Ife Express Way, the Claretian Theology House, Ibadan, South West of Nigeria, has once more come to life with the provision of a borehole water, a project undertaken by the Delegation Government of West Nigeria.
Without doubt, every culture conserves the philosophy that “Water is Life.” Thus, we echo in unison that life has returned in its abundance to our House of theological studies which mothers Claretian seminarians and religious of diverse African nationalities: Cameroon, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, including the host, Nigeria, etc.
It must be mentioned, however, that the issue of provision of consistent portable water source has bugged the past administrations. Several genuine efforts have been employed and huge sums of money deployed to provide water to no avail. Hopefully, the present engagement of professionals in geophysics for drilling the new hole with a befitting submersible pump has destroyed whatever craft that has for years bespelled the theology community regarding water. We pray this works now.
Furthermore, in continuation with the provision of basic infrastructures in the various Institutes of learning within the Organism, the Delegation Government has proudly concluded the perimeter fencing of the massive property that is the Claret Secondary School, situated in Kabba, Kogi State, North Central of Nigeria. It is often said by security experts that high perimeter fencing, beyond determining property ownership, is the first line of defence, or rather, a principal security measure. No doubt, to undertake this project of such magnitude with the high cost of materials in the present Nigeria is simply audacious, relieving and commendable. Well-done!
Following the recommendation at the last Delegation Assembly, the Government has now procured a 40-seater fairly used Coaster Bus for ferrying pupils of the school in view of opening up for Day Students. It is also purposed to incentivise parents who until now had only wished to send their children to the school, renowned for its grandiose edifice, environmental tranquil and academic excellence, but deterred because its wholesome Boarding and lacks requisite transportation facility for Day System. That is now done. Let the school work, walk and run. Bravo to the Government!
The young Organism is growing. “Only the best is good enough for Claretians” (Papa Christian Mary Ihedoro, CMF).
