Elerumoke, Ibadan-Nigeria, September 8, 2019. The Claretian Missionaries, West Nigeria Delegation on the above date, experienced another harvest of joy when four of their temporary professed members took their perpetual vows. This event took place during the Mass at the Claret House of Theology, Elerumoke, Ibadan Nigeria.
VR. Fr Matthias Iheonu, CMF, the Delegation Vicar was the Chief celebrant. He also received the vows as he officially welcomed the young brothers into the Congregation as finally professed members. Elder Claretian Missionaries Frs. Michael Eke and John Omoha served as primary witnesses at the ceremony.
During the homily, Fr Eke congratulated these young missionaries for their perseverance and encouraged them to be grateful for the gift of their vocation. He prayed the Lord to grant them the grace to be faithful witnesses to Him in the spirit of our Holy Father Founder St. Anthony Mary Claret. These Claretians are: Dudiegha Tamarauebielade Barnabas-Mario, Emmanuel-Marie Dare Olowo Linus, Alufohai Godwin Osemeobor and Amgbeye Judemary Beha’te.
In his closing remark, Fr. Iheonu, on behalf of the Major Superior, VR. Fr Daniel Mary Onyeayana, CMF, expressed his sentiment of joy and gratitude to God for adding new finally professed members to the Congregation, especially, our Delegation. In addition, he encouraged the temporary professed students of the Delegation, present at the occasion, to work towards becoming perpetual members of the Organism. “You all must take your formation seriously.” He said.
In furtherance, at that same moment, Francis Ulukanachukwu Nwankocha, made his first religious profession in the Congregation at the Claretian Institute of Philosophy Martyrs of Barbastro Chapel, Maryland-Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. VR. Fr Simeon Nwobi, CMF, the Provincial Superior of East Nigeria, who also received the vows of Francis on behalf of the Major Superior of the Delegation, led at the Mass attended by many Claretian Missionaries.
We pray for these our confreres that their faith may not fail and that they may find fulfilment as Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
