Maryland, Owerri: Wednesday, January 26, 2022. The entire population of the Claretian Missionaries of Nigeria gathered at the Claretian Martyrs’ Chapel, in the Claretian Institute of Philosophy Maryland, Old Road-Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, to mourn and lay to rest the mortal remains of Fr Emmanuel Agwulonu, CMF (East Nigeria Province) and Fr Charles Udeh, CMF (West Nigeria Delegation). That was the very first time, and pray God the last, the Nigerian Claretian Faintly gathered to bury two confreres at once.
Fr Emma Agwulonu, fondly called “King of Glory” (Kingdom), a lovely and thoroughly imitable veteran missionary in Equatorial Guinea, was born on September 06, 1952. He professed a Claretian Missionary on April 19, 1979 and was ordained a priest on June 24, 1984. He was professionally multilingual (Igbo, Spanish and English). Kingdom was called to eternal glory on December 28, 2021. He was 69.
On the other hand, the younger Fr Charles Udeh, a very nice son of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was a veteran missionary also having worked in Cameroon. Born on November 14, 1958, Fr Charles took his First Religious Vows on September 15, 1990. He was ordained a priest of the Lord on July 05, 1997. The Lord called him on December 21, 2021 at 63 years.
May their souls rest in the Lord’s peace and their memory be a blessing. Amen!
