Kabba-Nigeria, Saturday, November 28, 2020. The date witnessed with great felicitations the celebration of 50th wedding anniversary of Pa Michael and Ma Elizabeth Omonisaye, which took place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Kabba, Kogi State in the North-Central region of Nigeria. The celebrants are parents of Fr Henry Omonisaye, CMF, a General Consultor and the immediate past trailblazer Major Superior of the Claretian Missionaries, Delegation West Nigeria.
Fr Omonisaye was the Chief Celebrant at the Mass that started at 10am. More than could be wished by any priest, he was flanked by His Eminence, Anthony Cardinal Onaiyekan (immediate past Metropolitan of Abuja), Most Rev. Martins Olorunmolu (Lokoja Diocese) and Most Rev. Hilary Dachelem, CMF (Bauchi Diocese). Present at the occasion were some Superiors of Religious Congregations, more than 26 priests as well as over 15 Female Religious.
What can you tell a couple with 50-years certificate of bonded matrimonial union? Fr Augustine Medaiyedu, CMF, the homilist reminded them that the vows of commitment and fidelity to one another are still as fresh and licit, sacramentally, as it was from the first day. He prayed, as they continue living together for many more years, that God’s grace may abide abundantly with them.
It was obvious from his joyful countenance that Pa Michael, a founding Catechist of the local Church, looked once more into the ever-smiling eyes of Mama Elizabeth and quipped: “The most wonderful thing I decided to do was to share my life and heart with you.” And so adulated, the ‘young lady’ rejoined: “You are more myself than I am.”
Pa and Mama Omonisaye, you are GOLD: “YOUR LOVE IS A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE! LOVE ON”
