PRIESTLY AND DIACONATE ORDINATIONS IN NIGERIA

Owerri-Nigeria, Friday, December 20, 2024: Today witnessed the Priestly and Diaconate Ordinations of our candidates in the sister Nigerian Organisms of East Nigeria Province and Delegation West Nigeria at St. Anthony Mary Claret Parish, Area A, World Bank, New Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

The Ordaining Prelate, Most Revd Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, CMF, the Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, was flanked at the Mass by the two Superiors of Nigeria Organisms, VRF Nathaniel Eke, CMF, of East Nigeria Province and VRF Augustine Medaiyedu, CMF, of the Delegation West Nigeria.

In his homily, Bishop Nwobi admonished the ordinands to draw strength from faithful prayer life. The ministry of the Ordained in the Catholic Church is for the service of God and the Christian faithful. The Bishop urged the families of the candidates to always encourage them to be faithful to their respective ministries, rather than pressurise them with various demands.

Rev. Kenneth Chinecherem Chima, CMF
Rev. Joseph Nnabuike Edeh, CMF, and,
Rev. Peregrine Sopuluchukwu, CMF

Those ordained Deacons were:
— East Nigeria Province:
Stephen Odinaka Dike, CMF
Kevin Oguwuike Nwaogwugwu, CMF, and
Peter Chidiebere Onwe, CMF

— Delegation West Nigeria
Adesola Anthony Adegoke, CMF
Oluwabusayo Andrew Falajiki, CMF and
Chukwuebuka Kingsley Ogbete, CMF

Present at the occasion were about 50 Priests, 40 Religious and many more Lay faithful.

There were receptions after the Mass at various respective locations.
