The elective plenary meeting of the Diocesan and Religious Communication Directors (DIORELCOMDIR) of the Nigerian Catholic Church, hosted by the Apostolic Administrator, Clergy and the Laity of Ahiara Diocese, via their Directorate for Communications, is one of the first national activities in the vibrant Christian community, rising, so-to-say, from the ashes to great heights.

It was an outstanding professional, yet, socio-religious activity generally referred to as being wholly divine considering the timing and location. In fact, it turned out to be a pilgrimage. The Diocesan and Religious media personnel made a pilgrimage to Ahiara, Mbaise. Accordingly, during the well-attended opening Mass at St Brigid’s, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese, Most Revd Dr Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, in his powerful homily, welcomed the participants and drew their attention to the on-ground reality thus:

As you may have observed since your arrival, with the restoration of Episcopal ministry in Ahiara Diocese early this year, this local Church is flourishing again and the faith of the people is booming once more. The joy of the Gospel is vibrating in the hearts of the faithful at every corner of the Diocese. We thank God for the return of peace in this Diocese and pray fervently for its sustainably. May the Church in this Diocese grow ever stronger to the glory of God!
The veracity of this joy of the Gospel that is “vibrating in the hearts of the faithful at every corner of the Diocese”, according to the Prelate, is documented in a short video
Thereafter, the media directors headed for the Chris IV Hotels Ahiara Junction, Mbaise where they were heartily welcomed by the Diocesan Clergy and the Laity while the famous Abigbo Mbaise added pleasant musical notes into the already joyous atmosphere.

However, no words capture and phonate the experience and emotions better than the Document of the Resolutions from the Plenary Meeting, number 3.
Acknowledgement, appreciation and solicitation
The Catholic Diocese of Ahiara is back to life again and, as managers of Church information, we are glad to be principal witnesses to this reality. We joyfully came in one accord to demonstrate our solidarity with the people of Ahiara Diocese. We firmly believe that communication is an essential part of God’s plan for us. We are convinced that if our generation is to leave a mark we must begin by working as a team in the Church and in the Nigerian society. Communication actually is communion and this is what we have achieved by our choice of Ahiara for our plenary.
Ahiara Diocese has come to life again. And the Nigerian Catholic Diocesan and Religious Directors of Communications have come to witness it and to announce it, using the ‘most effective means possible’ (St Anthony Claret).
The Homily of Bishop Ugorji and the Resolutions are great works for thoughtful readings.
