WEST NIGERIA DELEGATION IN THEIR 6TH ASSEMBLY

Bwari-Abuja, Monday, April 25, 2022: The Claretian Missionaries, West Nigeria Independent Delegation, today gathered to initiate the 6th Delegation Assembly of the Organism at the Institute of Consecrated Life in Africa (INCLA), situated in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. This Assembly is special because, it is elective. Thus, we will celebrate the official announcement and inauguration of the new Delegation Government.

The Claretian Missionaries, properly called Servants of the Word, commenced the Gathering with the enthronement of the Holy Bible, processing from the inner Square of the house to the Hall of the Assembly. The rites of the enthronement were observed with every devotion and reverence.

After the roll calls of the members canonically convoked for the event, briefs and excuses were taken to permit those invited to participate in the deliberations, especially, the students both from the philosophy and theology houses.

Accordingly, the President of the Assembly, FR Manuel Tamargo, the General Prefect of Economy of the Claretian Congregation, declared the Assembly open at exactly 21:24 in the Assembly Hall of INCLA.

FR Tamargo went on to read the Letter from the Superior General of the Claretian Missionaries, Very Revd FR Mathew Vattamattam, in which he characteristically exhorted the Assembly Members to imbibe the spirit of our holy Father Founder St Anthony Mary Claret in the face of the challenges that battle Nigeria today.

Rules of the Assembly were read and the programme started indeed, followed by the elections of secretaries and moderators of the Assembly.

Members of the different Commissions were read to all present.

Kindly accompany with your usual fervent prayers, the Claretian Missionaries, West Nigeria Delegation, in this great moment of sincere deliberations to formulate a new effective, efficient and timely roadmap for our missionary undertakings in this part of the continent Africa, and in particular, Nigeria.
