All Reflections

THURSDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK OF EASTERTIDE

FIRST READING – ACTS 5:27-33, GOSPEL JOHN 3:31-36

Truth does not depend on popular opinion. Peter and the Apostles held on to the truth by speaking God’s own words. For them obedience to God comes before obedience to men. This should be the attitude of all Christians. We live in a world where truth is thwarted and has become relative. One good thing about the truth is that it sticks to the mind. It never leaves. No matter how long it is suppressed it always resurfaces. Jesus remains the truth. He is with us all the days of our lives. Like the Sanhedrin many deny Him and the teachings brought to us by the apostles for one worldly benefit or the other. These are born of the earth and they speak in earthly ways. You who are Christians and witnesses to the truth should live lives that manifests the truth. Like of old, it will infuriate those living a lie, but you will gain for yourselves eternal life.

May Jesus, the Truth set us free from every untruthful ways of life. Amen.
