West Nigeria Delegation Inaugurates New Council

It was all joy on 9th January 2016, when the members of the Delegation of West Nigeria collectively celebrated the inauguration the New Government of the Delegation appointed by the General Government after the necessary sounding of the members of the Delgation.  Present at the celebration were also the Lay Claretians and other Claretian Associates who gathered at the Claret House of Theology, Elerumoke in Ibadan, Oyo state. 

The inauguration began with the Eucharistic celebration presided by Very Rev. Fr. Henry Omonisaye, cmf the immediate past Superior representing the General Government. The new Superior, Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Onyeayana, cmf, took his oath of office with the profession of faith on the altar with his right hand placed on the book of the Gospel.

The new Delegation Council consists of Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Onyeayana, cmf – Superior, Rev. Fr. Matthias Iheonu, cmf – Prefect of Apostolate, Rev. Fr. Augustine Medaiyedu-Ambrose, cmf – Prefect of Formation and Br. Isaiah Akins Olarewaju, cmf – Econome.

This celebration was preceded by a three-day retreat/seminar for the New Council facilitated by Fr. Henry. It focused on Leadership, discernment and their action plan based on the XXVTH General Chapter as well as our Constitutions and Directory.

There was some moment for light refreshment after the Mass with all those who were present at the occasion.

We pray that the Immaculate Heart of Mary will inspire and direct the New Government to satiate her missionary mandate for the good of the Delegation, the Church and the society.
